Trump to add $7 trillion to the debt in his first term

For reference during their 8 years in office Obama added $8.6 trillion and W Bush added $5 trillion.
Trump inherited a $670 billion dollar deficit and was projected to run a $1.3 trillion deficit this year before COVID....now looking at anywhere from $3 trillion to $4.2 trillion.
The entire defense budget is $800 billion to give you a frame of reference for how much money we're borrowing.

He’ll have to step it up to double the debt during his second term, like Bush and Obama...

He’s spending so wildly...I have to imagine his new leverage of the Fed will be used somehow. Whether he kicks central banking to the curb or something else, who knows. I just can’t imagine him spending like this without a plan.

He's well on his way.

How much of this debt is due to this politically induced Wuhan Virus hysteria? 4 Trillion?

Like he had a choice.

I don’t think either side can defend this type of spending. They shouldn’t, but here we are.

Probably around 2.5
Was already projected to run a $1.3 trillion deficit this year in a "good" economy but once the Wuhan hit they just started spending more.
Maybe he thinks the government can just declare bankruptcy and move on like he did with his companies.

Perhaps Congress should start doing their job and submit a budget like they are suppose to do. I forget, when was the last time that they actually submitted a budget?

I'll be damned. So this was his secret plan all along, figuring out a way to beef up the federal deficit. That rascal.

Why should they? Seriously why. The American people won’t do our job and hold them accountable so why should they change a thing?

There are no remaining conservatives within the GOP anymore.

Exactly. The people don’t want to cut spending and we aren’t going to until we are forced to.

He does not GAF, he has bankrupted everything he has ever been involved with and left others holding the bag.
It is his thing.

I feel like this shouldn't have to be stated to an American citizen but POTUS isn't charge of appropriations
