I never supported either of them for reasons just like this abuse of power.

Seems Trump threatened today to investigate Google, Amazon and Facebook for anti trust violations.

This is big government run amok and I am very disappointed a republican president would threaten private companies like that. It is like FDR.

There is nothing right about it.

You should move then

Maybe the reason he (and many others) doesn't like these companies are they are violating anti-trust laws.

It's past time these companies are broken up. Good for Trump.

It is very disappointing to see you people defend this.

Most of you would rightfully be calling for the impeachment of any other President that did the same.

I wanted Obama impeached over the IRS abuse.

Wrong!

Look up the history of monopolies in American business.

Antitrust laws, also referred to as "competition laws," are statutes developed by the U.S. Government to protect consumers from predatory business practices by ensuring that fair competition exists in an open-market economy.

I'd be real curious as to how you all would imagine how breaking up any of these companies would work.

Just layout your nonantitrust case.
It is (or should be) a very easy ask.

It's a slow pitch dead center in the strikezone.

I'm surprised at you.

Wait, you rail about what you think is anti competitive behavior then criticize attacks on anti competitor behavior?

What are you talking about?? Trump is threatening these great America success stories with anti trust investigations because he doesn't like them. That is the case.
He can force them to spend billions of dollars defending themselves with no repercussions for government.

It sucks.

Why don't you do that??? Not even Standard Oil achieved monopoly status and should have been left alone. They never could have monopolized oil the way so many paint the situation.

First time I have ever used the term but how else do you describe the move toward an economy where the politically connected are rewarded with government protectionism and the political opponents are punished with the over reaching power of government?
An American tradition for at least 100 years.
