I think the first shot hits Trump, with subsequent shots being off that original mark with rapid trigger. It makes sense that he would set his target and send as many rounds as possible.

This. SS is responsible for the overall security of an event. However they have the inner circles and the outer protection circle is done by local police forces.
Through some of the positions here yesterday someone posted that SS has been asking for more resources but DHS has denied more resources.
Did SS only have enough manpower for very inner circles and the outer circles were heavily dependent on local cops? As many here have stated, the rooftops should have been a high priority focus as well as crowd around president.
Did local cops see the shooter but assume he was SS and not react? Was there a communication failure between local and federal agents?
Moving forward SS should have more resources than they need. And to think Dems in Congress were trying to strip his SS protection after he was “fairly” convicted…….

Sad but appears the SS sniper panicked.

Kill shot was definitely a different gun and location. Also you can see the two together snipers are off their guns when the kill shot happens. Hell..the second sniper bails.

Most likely the counter sniper team positioned to viewers right of stage took the kill shot. The sniper team in the video did not have a line of sight in the shooter. There was chopper video that showed the shooter on the roof (dead) and if you triangulate his position to that of the sniper team in video there is a tree between them.
The sniper team to right of stage would have had a clear line of sight from the chopper video.
The sniper coming off his scope was looking for the shooter and could not find him. I can promise you if he had the shooter in his sight he would not have come off his scope.

The SS is either incompetent or was part of it. Circumstantial evidence says it is the later.
1. Shooter is spotted by citizens but not by the SS.

I was wondering if that tree was in the way…the sniper in the pair that was on tripod very much appears to have shot first (and missed) whether he had visual or not.
By the way he reacts after pulling off scope and going back down..maybe he was told person was there and couldn’t see him and let his best guess rip.
