As a common person, why are you so vehemently against populism? You’re against your own self having “an equal voice” to that of the corrupt ruling elites? I just don’t get it, as a general matter.

We seem to be on the same wavelength there, my fella. Same exact wavelength. All due respect to everyone involved, and so on and so forth.

Because as a common person, I dont need your government to improve my life, because it cant. Most populist issues are totally ignorant of economics.

Only I can improve my life. Sitting around waiting for a mob of factory workers to change my life sounds like a losing proposition.

You need both elitist and populist elements to win.

I still think Levin is a decent voice for conservative Americans but he definitely lost quite a bit of credibility when he called Zeelenskee the Churchill of our times.

Well, we’re a bit past the part about wanting or needing government and such. There clearly is one in existence, and it’s not going to disappear any time soon. So then the question becomes whether as a common person you want to have an “equal voice” or not.

Exactly what I was saying last night. Desantis could be reading off a chemical compound he’s personally discovered to cure Parkinson’s. That “Sorry for farting” grin he flashes non stop is still going to make 50% of people uncomfortable

de Tocqueville. "Tyranny of the majority" explains it well.

I understand you won't "get it", but it is there.

I love how you think you're a patriot but you sound like a Bolshevik.

You're not entitled to the sweat of my brow. You just want big government to suit you and make up for your life's mistakes. That's on you, pal.

What you "populists" don't realize is that you're nothing more than marionettes for the elite. You think you need a strong man to get by rather than rely on yourself. Just as the Bolsheviks thought about Lenin. They also thought they were populists. Just different sides of the same coin.

You try way to hard for attention. I'm sorry your father walked out on you. Probably predicted you'd be a failure at an early age.

They don’t understand (I hope) what populism actually means. BLM was a textbook populist movement. So was that “independent” freak show zone in Seattle.

In case you haven’t noticed, basically every person who participates in any discussion here on the topic of “populism” has their own thoughts and beliefs as to what that concept even entails. Therefore, the vast majority of highbrow lecturing on the subject seen all too often amongst us is absurd and senseless to begin with.

And I know what you’re thinking, and my response is no, I have no reason to believe that yours or any of our other lecturers are in possession of the “correct” thought process on the topic of populism and how it translates to the circumstances of 2023 America. In other words, I won’t be assigning y’all any credibility on the subject any time soon. And do note that neither am I claiming to be more enlightened than the next guy about it.

Why don’t you go ahead and explain “populism” in terms of what you need it to mean in order to fit your narrative and opinion.

damn
