Sounds like Trump just deescalated it.

No. This is our steaming pile of shite. We’re married to it.

Have you not been listening to anything Trump has actually said? Initially he said that it would last about four weeks. Since then he has said multiple times that the US could walk away at any time and that it will be over when he feels like it's over.

The only real stated objective was that they were going to destroy Irans nuclear facilities and their military. And I believe that's pretty much accomplished already. Israel appears to want a drawn out war in the region and I highly doubt Trump is on board for that.

Marco Rubio said exactly the same thing last week.

This right here is why I’ve said the Iraq comparisons are unwarranted. Trump is not going to be pushed to escalation by Israel or Ted Cruz or Lindsey Graham or any of the other evangelicals/jews begging for it, imo.

Yall sound like battered wives at this point.

And I don’t believe him or believe that he’s accurate.

This will not be over any time soon, whether we’re still bombing them or not.

We, and specifically Trump, are completely married to the outcome of whatever takes place in Iran once this settles.

What you're saying flies in the face of literally everything he has said on the subject. What he specifically said is that he is going to destroy their nuclear facilities and their military capability and then leave it up to the people to determine what happens next.

I think he walks away from it. He was justified in attacking and walking away would make him true to his word.

I don’t care what he says. He says a lot of things. He undertook this action, and is completely responsible for the outcome and consequences.

He cannot walk away until this Strait of Hormuz issue is settled and the normal flow of traffic is restored.

No, he did not. He said 4. Or 6. Or as long as it takes. This isn’t limited to or controlled by some farcical timetable some of you want to imagine.

Yup. Energy prices are going to be a big problem for him and the GOP ahead of the midterms if this doesn't get wrapped up very quickly.

He's says a lot of things without thinking all the way through.

This is likely true, but this can also be resolved quickly. Potentially.

I'm not setting any sort of timetable for him. I'm just speculating what he may be about to do. He said it more than once that they initially planned for the operation to last about 4 weeks.

My thought process here is that they may have known exactly how this would all play out.

So you’re saying that the South Pars Field will continue to be attacked by Iran. Okay. You might be correct.
