"When Trump learned of Otto's condition, he doubled down on the order for Yun to rush to Pyongyang and bring Otto home," says the report. "The North Koreans were unilaterally informed that an American plane would soon land in Pyongyang and that United States diplomats and doctors would get off."
An anonymous State Department official said the president sounded like a "dad" when learning of the news. He was determined to retrieve Warmbier and bring him back to his parents as soon as humanly possible.
But, of course, there was risk involved. "We were very scared," said the official. As noted in the report, "though the North Koreans eventually said the plane would be able to land, no one knew what kind of welcome the Americans would receive on the ground."

VOR says it's because Otto was white.

Why? Trump told NK we're coming and did; did they really think Trump wouldn't have done something if NK decided to be a douche?

My best friend is a doctor and was working in radiology at University of Cincinnati when they got word that Otto would be coming in. I got a text that morning...."eggplant, gone" not referencing any patients name, of course. Heard that before it was public and I almost cried knowing what that poor family was going to deal with. Unfricking real what they did to him.

It makes me proud to see a man eager to bring his fellow countryman home when most of our politicians all to eager to send them off to die in a foreign land. Here's looking at you Bush and McCain.

Barry and Co left him to rot

Watched Jonestown dateline episode last night, there are always risks when engaging with crazies, and not so much even Un, but all the people they have brainwashed as well.

Every politician in Washington hates that Trump just gets shite done. No handwringing, poll gathering, milquetoast BS - he wanted the kid out of NK and made it happen. The goal of a politician is to do as little as possible and look busy as hell. Trump is the exact opposite. He needs one of those "git r done" stickers on his limo.

Not only that, but he once authorized the use of a drone to kill an American citizen. So brave.

I never understood why, when it comes down to it, President's don't just get the other dude on the line and say "look, tell your people what you want but this is what's going to happen. Or else, no more US Dollars in aid, no more trade, no BS we will cut you off." No one is going to risk that.
The incident where the US Special Forces soldier assigned to the CIA from a few years back comes to mind. The Pakistanis threw him in a local jail even though he was an accredited diplomat with immunity and Obama fricked around for almost six weeks getting him back. That guy should have been out within 24 hours and on his way home. Totally unsatisfactory.
What's the point of being the baddest mofo on the block if you aren't going to use it occasionally?
