Today is St. Michael's day
Also called Michalemas
quote:
Michaelmas (/'m?k?lm?s/ MIK-?l-m?s; also known as the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, the Feast of the Archangels, or the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels) is a Christian festival observed in many Western Christian liturgical calendars on 29 September, and on 8 November in the Eastern Christian traditions
quote:
In times past, the streets of the Catholic West rang with this greeting on the 29th of September. Just like Christmas—the “Mass of Christ”—so too does the term Michaelmas denote the “Mass of Michael,” that is, St. Michael the Archangel.
In the current calendar, we celebrate all three Archangels this day—Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael—and all the holy angels. But in former times, the three archangels had their own feast days, with today being the great and ancient feast of St. Michael the Archangel. Alone among the Archangels he possesses a first-class feast.
In the Middle Ages, the September feast of St. Michael was actually a Holy Day of Obligation, though this hasn’t been the case since the 1700s. Many and varied cultural celebrations existed—and still exist!—to honor this day, its importance extending even to secular affairs. In Great Britain, Michaelmas was one of the four “quarter days” of the year where debts and rents would be settled. The autumn term at many British universities is traditionally called “Michaelmas term,” as it commences on or near this feast day.
Today is, therefore, a day of immense historical significance in the Church and society at large, and reflects the high esteem in which she has always held this Archangel—and his singular role in the life and defense of God’s people throughout the ages.

Christians pray for help towards Saint’s such as St Jude , St Christopher? Why is that a issue
not the ones who read the Bible with a minimum of 5th grade reading comprehension. You have absolutely zero reason to pray to anyone But Christ, God Almighty, or the Holy Spirit
If you pray to anyone but the trinity, you are praying to Satan or his demons.
paint that across the walls of your house so you won't forget
You go, guy!
Tell those Catholics that they are praying to Satan.
That is the way to get us all on the same page with regard to Politics and Trump winning.
See folks? This is why we should not discuss Religion or Theology on Political Talk - because Political allies always end up at each other's throats over Religious differences.

Why doesn’t God just kill Satan/the Devil? Why does he allow evil in the world? Is God not powerful enough to kill Satan? No, that’s not it. Satan is God’s buddy - his subordinate coworker. Satan works for God testing people like Job. One look at Isaiah 45:7 in the KJV Bible will tell you everything you need to know about why God lets Satan run amuck as the god of this world.

There are some religions that view God as a Dualistic God who is both Good and Evil. If I remember my history correctly, Judaism and Christianity both had to deal with this issue and resolve the notion that God was Good at times and intentionally Evil at other times. Both religions resolved the question with the answer that God is Great, God is Good and we thank Him for our food.

Awesome idea.
I can make sausage bread in the shape of a dragon.
My kids would love that.
Thanks

Amen.
And good thing you do so you don’t end up being murdered by Yahweh like he did when the Israelites whined about only having mana to eat and then he sent a cloud of quail and forced them to eat it until it came out of their noses.

Nice prayer, but, why on earth would Trump pray to anybody other than Jesus Christ? Seems like Idolatry to me.
Jesus has a lot of responsibility. He delegates so that your prayer inquiries receive a quicker response. If you have an issue at work, it's usually more efficient to seek out your department head than the CEO.

Well, Champagne, don’t you know Yahweh can’t murder you? The fact that the killing is done by Yahweh makes it moral and just and right, because it is Yahweh that is doing it. And if it is justified, it isn’t murder.

After watching the podcast with Tucker, John Rich, Russell Brand.
If you listen to John Rich's song Revelation and don't feel anything. You may need a dousing in Holy Water. Exit stage left to hell.

I heard a story today in a already depressed PA town.
There is a small Church that has an outdoor cabinet that closes with plexiglass. It is like one of the book things. Someone was placing unperishable food in it. As they were leaving a man and two small kids said thank you.
The kids looked like it was Christmas morning for some mac and cheese bowls, granola bars, and ready rice.
It is far worse than what many think. The Church food banks are running out of food. Turns out the working class with 2 to 3 jobs don't qual for free food at kids free food at schools.
We have far worse than the soup kitchens in the depression. We have a forgotten working class.

Pretty sure this is sarcasm but if not: do you ask anyone to ever pray for you? That is all this is doing; asking St Micheal to pray for us and defend us

If God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, then he doesn’t need any help. If he has a good plan, and he never changes his mind and never has regret, and does things according to his will, then prayers (begging) are useless.
In reality, Christianity came from a sect of Judaism (Enochian/Essene Judaism itself derived from the first temple polytheistic cult of Solomon) where Yahweh was a son of the most high El Elyon and Yahweh was not all powerful and was not omniscient or omnipotent and had shitty plans and couldn’t make up his mind and did experience regret and could be bargained with. Asking/praying to the saints is just a form of that early tradition of praying to the lesser deities, with Yahweh himself being but one of those lesser deities with El Elyon being the most powerful ruling on high and from which IsraEl derives its namesake.
