Trump Orders Pulte to Carry Out Mass Firings Within the Intel Community

Correction: Apparently Gabbard did make staffing cuts during her time. She cut the ODNI in half.

sounds like confirmation that he's the "hatchet man" role short term and a placeholder for someone else to step into DNI later as was speculated in an earlier thread

Yeah, he pretty much said as much yesterday. He said that Pulte will be very temporary if for no other reason than Pulte wouldn't want to do it long. But that he has great energy and is anxious to get in there and do what needs to be done.

Gutting these rogue agencies, if it happens, will be the greatest accomplishment of his to date. I think if they're talking about mass firings they can start with each and every fricking cocksucker employed by the CIA. That would be a nice start.

Unfortunately they won't be able to dissolve the CIA. But they can definitely fire people. I would fire as many of them as possible.

Pretty sure the DNI can’t conduct “mass firings” of anyone. It’s one of the most hyped but probably one of the least important positions in the cabinet.

He has broad termination authority over both the ODNI and the CIA. The rest of the agencies will fall to their respective department heads.
Let's not beat around the bush here. Everyone knows what frickin agency needs to come under the gun. It's the CIA. And yes, he can terminate a lot of them. I just wish he could go farther and disband that God forsaken den of vipers.

Maybe he has and maybe Ratcliffe has refused. Unfortunately the POTUS can't just walk into the CIA and start cleaning house. He can replace the director, sure. But the question is, will he be able to appoint anyone in his place that will be willing to play ball?
I personally hope Pulte is able to get it done.

I don't believe he had any issues with Gabbard. In fact, the work Pulte will perform was largely made possible by the extensive financial research under her leadership. That said, Pulte is hard enough to conduct mass firings ... that makes sense.

I’m pretty sure the DNI can’t just walk into the CIA and clean house either. I assume he can clean house at the ODNI which I assume is full of bloat and waste.
