We’re trying to help a local family find housing. They lost everything recently when it was revealed her husband wasn’t really her husband as he was married and had another family in another state. Mom and three kids here left with nothing and he disappeared. I called the housing office for our parish. I was told they can submit an application when the application window opens.
Here’s the catch. The application window hasn’t been open since February 2020 and then it was only open for 2 days.

The 30 days is for the owners of the housing. I don't have a problem with that because when the law says one thing but gov't doesn't enforce it ever, then in my mind should be almost treated like a new law and not just blind side people when the gov't has been telling them all along that they are fine with it.
There are stupid laws on the books about not wearing bells and such that make no sense in the modern world. If I were to get arrested for wearing a bell I would consider that an injustice because it hasn't been enforced for 100 years and would amount to entrapment.

Presently housing a relative who completed drug rehab and has been put on a list, supposedly she meets criteria to be at top. Problem is how many qualify for "top" and they don't have any openings.
Proud she's clean but would like my home back. Wonder how she will handle housing with drugs around but not enough to keep her here.
Hope there is an opening in 31 days!
