Mine would be: Stay away from the housing market. Tell Congress to stay away also. Know what is worse than shite? Setting shite on fire.
I tend to agree... government solutions tend to make things worse.
Still- what he's doing is better than denying there are issues.

Building houses will not stop even in downturns. With the amount of exodus’s happening it’s freeing up rentals properties as realized in lowering rental prices. Abundances in decent places relaxes pressures on all things across the spectrum to consumers. But excessive building along with reduce in demand can create nightmares for industries and homeowners values.

The President is so very wrong about this. Older folks who bought houses at reasonable prices and watched their homes appreciate to crazy levels because of the government, should not then have those home values protected by the same government.
This is 100% pulling up the ladder behind you. If you have a high valued house, you are the one with access to its equity...that you did nothing to earn besides being born at the right year. We need young people with ambition and drive to start new industry to have access to capital, not just boomers who want to take vacations to Italy

I’m generally aware if the market dynamics there but i’ll have to see if i can find anything on what he is specifically crying about now on them.
Ultimately the market is leading them away from consumer-centric products because they make way more selling out to data centers. Its been a dynamic for a few years now. The micron announcement they are ending consumer space is terrible for consumers. But their job isnt to safeguard the consumer market. Its to maximize shareholder value.
What the microm announcement does do - is create opportunities for new companies to come in and target the consumer market. We need more competition there, and the added ai demand should support more competition now - its just not something that spins up overnight.
But nothing I just said would make for a very entertaining Gamers View (Nexus) episode. Its way better if he just gets up on a soap box and complains.
I think the general problem is that silicon (scarcity) is being artificially driven because all of Big Tech is effectively buying all the wafers up before they are even created and sitting on them for data centers that are 5 years out of being completed.
The arm twist to the consumer is that for people who enjoyed building personal computers whether for work or gaming are effectively priced out and the next step is akin to currently what NVIDIA is doing with GPU leasing.
People wont own anything anymore unless you have money money.

What equity? I dont have a 50 year schedule in front of me but im about 90% certain you are still paying 100% interest and little to no principal even after 10 years.
The 50-year plan would only work if they forced lenders to move away from the current armamentarium schedule. It made sense when homes were 100k or less. it's just stealing at this point.

Buying a home for an inflated price.

How about deport 30M illegal aliens and watch prices fall via buyer's market conditions to fill the vacancies?

AKA creates nightmare for retired people and overleveraged slop house builders.
We need those downturns in the market. Its a natural part of the economic cycle. If your whole economic policy is preventing downturns at all costs, you dont have a real economy.

That is entirely dependent on the housing market.
Dude in order to make it work, that housing market would have to be inflationary on steroids. Think about it.
This just means that equity you get may get you rolled into a nicer rental unit you pretend you own via mortgage
Posted on 12/23/25 at 10:52 am to VoxDawg
That’s a big one. A lot of areas are seeing rental prices higher than mortgages.

How are poor illegals buying 400k homes?

I don't necessarily disagree.
Then again, Trump and team have a tendency sometimes to come up with out of the box ideas- I'm willing to wait and see.
Question... if today's 20-30yr olds are in favor of longer term mortgages- do you think they should be allowed that option? So long as shorter term loans are available to those that want them?
