I think how he believes things should be and how you and others amongst us believe things should be simply don't line up. And I'm betting he's not too concerned about it. Neither am I....I tend to agree with his takes and his moves. He appears to me as confident as ever, plus if it were as foregone a conclusion as you and others seem to think, I don't believe his detractors would be in such overdrive to injure his chances. They seem desperate.
