Apparently that is a hard concept for you to wrap your mind around though.

This bunch believe Denmark will hand over Greenland, Putin and Kim Jong-un have America's best interests at heart and unicorns fly out of old Bonespurs butt so yeah they believe there will be no income tax.

You painted a broader scope than income tax

Property tax funds your schools, fire, and police. It’s local not federal.

I’ll believe it when I see it. He’s floated this idea around numerous times before but never did anything.

Y’all will believe anything this buffoon says. It’s embarrassing.

These are the correct answers.

If you really believe that income tax is going away ever, you are just retarded.

That's really all that can be said about it.

Does this come before, after, or between the DOGE checks and 10% credit card rate? I’m confused.

And, as such, would be much easier to accomplish. All it takes is getting a few like minded locals to run for the county commission or city council in the next election. That shouldn't be difficult in a rural Alabama or Tennessee county.

Simple.

So why hasn't it happened? Because voters that have two brain cells to rub together understand that a shitload of government services...including the police and sheriff's departments...would go away.

Defending public schools sounds good...until the stadium lights don't come on anymore on Friday nights.

Thinking it would require a convention of the states?

Congress can set the rate to 0%. Nothing in the constitution has to change. The 16th amendment authorizes income tax, it doesn’t mandate it.

They control what’s already been collected/printed. Trump controls the IRS through the Internal Revenue Commissioner appointed by him. He could make this happen through him and dare Congress to oppose him.

The IRS doesn’t set the rates.

Not going to happen, and it’s irrelevant unless you can operate a balanced budget and quite borrowing or printing money. The inflation tax is out of control and this would do nothing to bring that inline.

Trump overshoots always. Its how he negotiates. Hes aiming for a compromise that will still reduce taxes a lot and he always wins these kinds of things.

Unlike over-emotional leftists, we realize how Trump works. You people fly into a tizzy like women over every word he says

When you fill your 1040 this year, you'll have a credit for the amount of federal tax you paid on the overtime portion of your wages.

That depends on how your time is calculated. Some people got hoodwinked on this. It only applies to FSLA overtime and your employer must declare it and submit a form to the IRS and you. Also, the only portion not taxed is the “half” portion of time and a half. You will still pay taxes on the regular rate of pay.

I have an idea for a new tax. Instead of taxing businesses on profits how about a tax on all income before deductions and expenses. It can be some obscene low rate because let’s face it some businesses have entire departments to ensure they pay little to no taxes because they made no money yet have money for bonuses and CEO stock options and carry forward years of losses.

You could even do it for individuals too. A flat tax of 1-3 percent, no deductions, no SALT deductions.
