Exactly. He just doesn't want them releasing a bunch of politically motivated bullshite in the meantime.
FYI, I am someone that absolutely believes in Global Warming.
I just don't get my panties in a bunch about something clearly logical.

Associated Press ?@AP BREAKING: Trump administration mandating EPA scientific studies, data undergo review by political staff before public release.
If this is true, every single one of you frickers should be afraid, very afraid. It's one thing to want to quell scientific or media bias but only Trump approved information is a recipe for absolute disaster.
This makes me WABA, Want America Back Again.

quote:Sure. I think Obama probably agreed with most of it anyway, but I'm not aware of any similar rule under his administration requiring WH political staff to approve data.
You think the EPA was just releasing shite left and right that wasn't approved by Obama.

This is so freaking inane. They are part of the EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT
They exist and get their authority from an Act. Not from Trump. Don't be a fricking retard.

Few realize this Josh. It's a long, long term objective, but it has started.

We should be afraid of a boss telling his employees not to release things without his approval?
Ok.

scientific research, especially that funded by the government, should be freely available to the community.
if a group takes issues with any findings, they are free to refute them using facts, observations, and logic.
that's how the science thing works.
restricting this process is wholly unethical and detrimental to the advancement of society.

Its amazing how quickly "conservatives" bow down to the executive branch after a Republican is in office.

Yes, it was via an EXECUTIVE ORDER of the then President.

When what he's telling them to release is scientific data? Absolutely.

What if the data that Trump's staff has is conflicting with what the EPA wants to release?

This board needs a remedial civics class.

We're the boss.
This is taxpayer funded data.
What happened to transparency?

Nope, not of the EPA. The President is their ultimate boss.
Fortunately, WE are still HIS.

So, in theory, the executive branch should have editing control of scientific data from one of its "appendages"? Are you guys hearing yourself?
Their managing supervisor, reviewer and BOSS is the Chief Executive. They work directly for the POTUS. They report to the POTUS.
They are NOT independent in any way. Congress originally had the authority and responsibility to carry out the missions of these agencies. Congress decided that it was too much trouble SO they delegated all rule-making responsibility and authority to these agencies that are in the Executive Branch. POTUS is the Boss of everything in the Executive Branch.
EPA and all of their snowflake liberal bureaucrat Democrats WILL NOW bend to the Will of the POTUS.
The decision is Unalterable, Final and Non-Negotiable. The End. Stop talking and get back to work.

Went from drain the swamp to power grab just like that. Sad that short sidedness and partisanship makes DC exactly like it's always been.

Sort of, but it still seems you have the chain of command fricked up.
