- Voter ID - Most folks have a DL. So good.
- No mail-in voting - sure. But what about military serving overseas?
- No cash bail - yes, because the police never ever make any mistakes.
This is a terrible idea.
- No men in women's sports - good
- No welfare for illegals - sure , but what do we mean by “welfare”. This is like saying “assault” weapon. Do we mean SNAP, CHIP, WIC, Federal education grants , other?

To keep this from happening would be to pass the items trump has proposed. If they do not it will all be burned to the ground.
You do realize that something that's passed by one session of Congress and signed into law by one President can be completely undone by a different session of Congress and a different President, don't you?
Say the Senate eliminated the filibuster and passed the voter ID bill and no mail ballots law. Trump signs them into law. If they survive the immediate court challenges (they won't because voting regulations are state issues, but say they did). Come 2028 a blue wave sweeps in Democratic control of both sides of Congress and the White House. They simply pass bills removing mandatory voter ID and allowing mail in ballots. Democratic president signs them. Poof, it's all gone.

Notice... no "recission" bills.

I would like to hear a reasonable explanation as to why Republicans should not use the "nuclear option" knowing the Dims wanted desperately to use it the last time they controlled the Senate.

Does he care about what happens to America after he leaves office? We could be looking at Democrats controlling both houses and the White House in 2928. They will undo everything he is trying to do if that happens.

Just wait until the Democrats get their turn with the terminated filibuster.... Trump is so short sighted it's ridiculous

Which is why we should roll back all the foolishness from past Presidents

You don't have to make frontal assaults to win a war. If you can't imagine how we can beat the left without acting like crazy fricks and Trump trying to be a great man of history then maybe you are making my point.
We need to find a way to pivot to issues that we can dominate and focus on getting moderates and independents back on the GOP bandwagon. Only 10% of the country identifies as "very conservative" which is where the AF/MAGA movement is at. Trumps 1st year has been a blitzkrieg and that works until it doesn't and the enemy adapts. We now need to find a way to shift gears. Doing everything all at once may not be sustainable.
I for one think that the SCOTUS is about to help Trump by undoing his tariffs. This is going to give the POTUS the ability to pivot economically while placing any blame on the left. If Trump can work to get housing cost down and healthcare cost down and keep energy cost down the GOP will do well in the midterm elections. If he think peace deals and immigration are going to enough he is missing the mark.

He's seems unconcerned about sustaining his agenda beyond his own term. He's thinking mostly about himself. This has always been his weakness.

The first three would probably be ruled as states perogatives by SCOTUS, they have ruled similarly before.

Donald Trump makes it clear what he’s ready to immediately pass
“If we terminated the filibuster
- Voter ID
- No mail-in voting
- No cash bail
- No men in women's sports
- No welfare for illegals
- Could go on and on”
He says they can pass NOTHING without doing this.
Questions:
1. Why wasn't any of this common sense agenda steamrolled through during Trump 1.0, 2017-2020?
It would have saved us a lot of grief, hundreds of billions, and reduced the illegal invader pop by tens of millions.
2. With the way EOs have been used to circumvent Congressional approval for so many things via "National Emergency" declarations, it seems most of the above items to pass could have easily fallen under that category -- muh-Filibuster be damned.

DOWN-Votes... ZERO
Ruh-Roe.
Seems to me both Conservatives and Pubbie loyalists have a severe lack-of-trust / credibility problem with the GOP do EVER do the right thing (aka America First legislation).
Hmm...HAS the GOP always been sandbagging us, taking their 30 pieces of silver then taking a dive for the Dem agenda? Sure looks like it.
