Somewhat

But people in prison isn't really what the protests are about

It could be a closely related issue regarding alleged inequitable treatment by the criminal justice system though

frickin nailed it. If you had a stance or goal, you’d take the meeting with POTUS, but if your only platform is anti-trump, you can’t take the meeting or it’d be a fundamental betrayal to their dogma

This is just more proof at how Trump is one of the most, if not the most brilliant self promoter alive.

That and he's the greatest troll in american history.

Pelosi would say why doesn't he let all of them out of jail if he wants to be fair and just.

You're starting to figure Trump out, huh?

He is positioning MUH Russians and Mueller the same way.

They really don't want to solve any problems...bashing Trump & the system is the cool thing to do now that obama/clinton are out.

IF they bring evidence of rampant problems, then yes - I will agree.

BUT - if all they got is a list of bad outcomes for blacks engaging in violent interactions, then they need to be publicly slapped in the face (figuratively) for their willful ignorance and unwarranted hatred.

Did I miss something? I heard him say that the players could send him names of people who they feel have been treated unfairly and he'd have his team look into those cases and pardon them if they agree. Where did he say he would meet with the players?

Like I said in the other thread, I like the idea but aren't the players mostly protesting the killings from police officers? I don't see it addressing that issue. But at least he is trying to do something positive. Maybe it's the first step. The players should realize that they can actually make a difference and not have to shite on the american flag to prove a point.

Either that or they will start bitching about the kinds of guys killed by the cops in Ferguson or Baton Rouge. Who were shown to be high as frick and being aggressive.

Why not? He had all the cards stacked against him. The former president, the DOJ, the FBI and the Clinton machine. It is hard to imagine how powerful the Clintons were to have the FBI, The President, The DOJ and The CIA in her back pocket. The White hats will win this one this time.

Trump is reaching across the aisle more than any other President in recent memory. And he's doing it again, and again, and again.

Meanwhile, all the media wants to talk about is Melania's fake facelift and leaving her abusive husband.

I like the fact that Trump is pardoning people in the heart of his presidency instead of waiting to the end of his term. Waiting until the end of your term is cowardly.

This - I have long despised this "pardons on the way out the door" process. I think the pardon power should be curtailed during the last year of a tenure - except for crimes committed during that interval.

There is too much 'appearance of impropriety' involved with a last second pardon. This begs the question of "obstruction of justice?"

“Inequitable treatment”?

Somehow I think they mean “inequitable outcome”. As in “too many black inmates, not enough of anyone else”.

It could be a function of economics, as blacks are less likely to be middle class or above than their groups.

It could also be a result of culture, which will be decried as racism. A culture in which breaking the law is enabled and or showing disrespect to authority is encouraged will likely have an outsized population in prison.

Maybe Trump has some plans for criminal justice reform regarding non-violent drug offenders. This would be a brilliant opener.

Don't forget about the NeverTrumpers Mitt Romney, Ed Cox, Paul Singer, John McCain that joined these black hats to take out Trump.

It is truly amazing the political forces he as overcome and is overcoming.

The one thing Trump has on his side is the truth. That is very powerful if you are not afraid to use it.

Great gesture IMO.

But seeing how these athletes don’t actually have a concise argument, don’t think they would be willing to attend. Trump could disband every PD in the country and these millionaire babies still wouldn’t want to talk about things that matter. Jenkins appears to be an immature attention whore. Do black people honestly think only black people are killed by cops? They should’ve been more inclusive.
