Sounds pretty serious right? Then they show up at Trump tower in jeans and start talking about adoptions. You throw them out thinking you were played and move on to the other 40 meetings you have on the calendar that day.
It had to have felt like a cheesy Nigerian inheritance scandal, but I understand wanting to look into any potential oppo research in such a high stakes campaign. They should have just played it safe and disclosed it. It might have exposed what these people's real intentions were.

If Trump has financial ties to Russia (Eric Trumps words) then it destroys Trumps credibility and foreign policy initiatives with the Kremlin. I have to spell all this out for you people?

Define financial ties. I think you might be falling I to the "muh Russians" trap where even the borscht in poisoned. He has business interests all over the world, just like the clintons. Trump said he has zero business deals with Russians. You don't get to have it both ways. The President is accountable for anything he says. People trusted him when he decided not to reveal his taxes. The public has justifiable outrage if the President learnt truthful about business dealings in Russia.
