When Muller investigates and you lie then you face 2 years in prison. Think about Scooter Libby. Anytime there is an investigation like this not being truthful can get you behind bars. "We never met with any Russians" is a lie. Just admit you dis because that's not a crime. Being stupid by covering it up could be though.

I read it as he thought they were being played by a charlatan. I mean, one of them was in jeans and a tee shirt. Kushher left 10 minutes in and the rest followed shortly thereafter. Either way, they should have disclosed to it play it safe, even if they weren't sure who these people really were. I get that there are tons of nameless, faceless people clamoring for access and there is no great way to vet and filter all of that in the midst of a campaign, but play in safe. They probably still attack you, but at least you have your bases covered.
As for the idea that this is a dem play to generate a FISA warrant... anyone who dismisses this idea off hand is not paying attention.

The meeting was set up by people who worked with trump before. Goldstone.
The agenda was about the Russian government wanted to give trump incriminating evidence about Hilary.
Its not like some rando emailed the trump team showed up a Facebook event.
