Here's how this is going to play out:
1. Trump makes threat
2. Iran won't surrender or do a deal
3. We bomb a few more things
4. Trump declares that what he threatened (whether it's "regime change" or Iran being "wiped out" or some such) actually happened
5. Start back at 1

I agree that Iran needed to be taken care of but I think Trump underestimated the resolve of this radical regime. Almost any govt in the world would have surrendered by now but the Mullahs don’t care if the whole nation dies.
I’m not sure really how you defeat that short of a full scale invasion to wipe them out
