Well maybe Trump's visit will be a violation of the treaty and the indians can try to take the land back by force.

If they can sober up long enough.

Good luck trying to take it back. South Dakota would be extinct if it wasn’t for Mt Rushmore

was he paid $500K to say this? Did Hillary's people call him screaming? Did Warren send smoke signals to his casino?

A little history:
The claim that the Black Hills is "disputed Sioux territory" is incorrect. The land ownership question has already been settled by the Supreme Court. The Arikara arrived by 1500 A. D., followed by the Cheyenne, Crow, Kiowa and Pawnee. In the 19th century the Lakota Sioux claimed the land calling it Paha Sapa. The land was then taken by the white man from the Sioux who stole it from the Cheyenne, Arapaho and Kiowa who stole it from the Crow peoples and they from the Pawnee and Arikara or whomever held it before. Indian tribes did not truly claim "ownership" of land, but only it's use as they were generally wandering peoples. The Supreme Court decision means that title to the land stays as recorded in the various deeds in effect today. The court established a value at the time of taking and awarded damages to the tribes from the U.S. Government in that amount plus compound interest from 1876. The U.S. government has set aside a trust fund in a Bureau of Indian Affairs account of over 1 BILLION dollars and that trust fund is drawing compound interest. The tribes will not accept the court ruling and do not want to take the funds as it might extinguish future claims. It's all about the money as usual. And the longer it is drawn out, the more money their legal advisers are able to collect so I don't expect it to end anytime soon as that would kill their golden goose. Funny. I’ve been told all confederate statues must come down and buildings renamed because losers shouldn’t be recognized. Now we want to appease losers by denying winners access to loser land. And Native Americans had plenty of slaves that they treated like sh*t so that can’t be it. Hmm

The Sioux can suck a dick before they get there lands taken for good. People forgot what the word “conquer” means. They were conquered and need to get over it.

PINE RIDGE, S.D. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - The president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe faces a formal driving under the influence charge after his arrest by tribal police over the weekend. OST President Julian Bear Runner was arrested early Saturday morning.

He is charged with driving under the influence, first offense; and verbal or written assault. This information comes from Oglala Sioux Tribe Attorney General Scott James.

Mr. Bear Runner has alcohol problems. How predictable.

Mr. Bear Runner is kind of a dick.

PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) – The Oglala Sioux have banished a non-tribal member with coronavirus and her husband from the Pine Ridge Reservation. The tribal council deadlocked 9-9 this week on a motion to banish the woman and her husband. Council President Bear Runner broke the tie vote by voting in favor of the banishment.

“For an individual to leave the reservation going to one of the major hot spots where this virus is and then come back is just uncalled for,” President Julian Bear Runner said on KILI radio after the emergency session Wednesday. “It was negligent that this individual would still leave after laws were already in place not just tribally, but nationally and globally.”

The Rapid City Journal reports the woman contracted the coronavirus after returning from Denver on her way to a medical appointment in California that ended up being canceled.

Hrmm, wonder what the terms of his being out on bond awaiting trial are? Probably something about being a public nuisance and/or staying out of trouble. Perhaps something about abiding by all laws is included in his bail.
