As much as he criticized GWB for getting us into OIF, pretty well pawning off Afghanistan on Obama, and then campaigning on no new wars, I am pretty well certain putting boots on the ground in Iran will probably crush any support he would get from his base. He is most certainly walking a fine line and I was lukewarm in the air strikes but generally feel that’s what needed to be done. Now, let Israel keep on doing the heavy lifting while we try to work the diplomacy angle using the premise that we needed to remove their nuclear threat and that is it. Striking any further military targets or heaven forbid a civilian target will only escalate this thing moving forward and further alienate support for this administration.

Iran's leadership has for many decades been hostile, bellicose, and has supported violence.
No matter how they get them, objectively the odds of the world being more dangerous rise if they do. No rational person would say otherwise.
