Just my opinion. I think we will see presidential action in the not too distant future. Can’t wait to see what it is. Got to believe it will be totally effective and roundly criticized by MSM and the Daffy Dems. I’m still not tired of winning, are you?

yes he is. He will huff and puff, make a strong man statement and in the end will do nothing. (Not that I want him to do anything militarily)

Well, to be honest we shouldn't more billions at a problem that hasn't been fixed yet.

Wanna cripple the cartels?

Decriminalize all drugs.

Or, better yet, decriminalize weed and make everything else a crime punishable by a bullet to the back of the nugget. At least for distributors and dealers caught inside the distribution chain or with X amount of the drug in their possession.

I'm telling you right now that decriminalizing any of the opioid related drugs and the world goes to shite.

Not sure why the hard fight is still raging with weed.
There's gotta be a tipping point where the Fed just backs off of it and lets the states decide.

I mean, there are things that are best handled under the 10th Amendment instead of the Feds.

Military action in a foreign country is an act of war. You want to go to war with Mexico? Really?

Have a better idea?

Keeping a black market only helps keep them heavily funded.

If it doesn't have value the supply will be diminished.

People already lie, cheat, and steal to sustain their habit.

Let's say the supply doesn't go away. Those addicts will have to lie, cheat, and steal less to feed their habit.

Legalizing marijuana has brought prices down in legal states. Only reason they grow more than can be used is because that surplus is going to illegal states.

I know folks who don't want it legal. They would take a HUGE paycut.

This is absolutely retarded. You wouldn't cripple them, you'd legitimize them

Short of a full blown military op with the cooperation and participation of the Mexican military, what can he do? The domestic law enforcement agencies can only do so much without breaking the law.

You mean, like he will "draw a line in the sand"?

You got the wrong president.

Legitimate organizations are far less likely to go around murdering bystanders, and the business would change. You'd still see tons of deaths and lives ruined, but it would be done by pharmaceutical conglomerates who can produce and distribute more efficiently.

That said, the cartels don't go away. They just shift to focus on arms dealing, human trafficking and general mafia style thuggery. Violence has made these people rich, and they will find some other illegal enterprise to direct it to

Absolutely.

Eta....ok, so cripple is the wrong word to use. They aren't going away. I'd rather not waste anymore taxpayer money fighting in those countries and lessen their earnings. It's been untold billions and billions over many years. It hasn't worked!

I also would like to focus on rehab programs rather than imprison folks. Use taxpayer money smarter instead of lining people's pockets with prison labor and private prisons.

Decriminalizing would help with both fronts.
