He’s better than a conservative.

He’s trying to prevent a huge tax increase in the populace.

The Republicans have not been (fiscally) conservative for a bit. Trump and his ilk push the same policies that were pushed by the Democrats pre-2000.

He is not a pure fiscal conservative but he is the upsetter of apple carts that we desperately needed. Both parties are happy to kick the cans of existential threats down the road. Who else could have brought immigration and the trade deficit and blue collar jobs to front and center in the national conversation? He's often done it in a clownish manner but we're talking about the things we need to talk about. And that both parties would rather ignore.

Of course. If I recall you even said as much during the campaign. You don't really care what policies Trump supports. You'll support them because Trump supports them. Trump first. Not America first. We totally get that.

The idea that we would grow our way out of debt is just silly.

When a business takes out a loan to expand, what is that considered? Silly, too?
We have WWII level debt to GDP levels. And virtually nothing to show for it.

Fixed it for you. As long as the debt continues to go up, we are incurring future tax increases.

He literally is for spending money we don't have. He just came out for eliminating the debt ceiling. The debt is the most existential threat we face. Trump is doing nothing to confront that threat, in fact he's in favor of making it worse.

No you see, we simply default on the debt. Surely thats the conservative option here! I don't get how this breed of "conservatives" didn't run on canceling student debt with logic like i've been seeing lately.

I think this is the best justification for Trump. He is not perfect, far from it. I'm not a never Trumper. I'm a conservative. He is better than the Dems....but if you are a conservative, my point is that he needs us to win and to govern. So, conservatives should play hardball with him whenever we can to get him to hold the line on key issues, like spending and debt.

Maybe you should see a Dr?

You claimed you believed in free markets and individualism. Yet have lost your shite because Trump is combating the CCP in China over trade tariffs on us, and the low cost of manufacturing only available because of communist control

Stop supporting communist regimes vs. someone who is actually forcing free trade between nations
