Trump is ditching David Perdue

Donald Trump plans to cut his losses and drop his support for David Perdue, the Georgia GOP gubernatorial candidate whom the former president previously endorsed but is now performing poorly in polls.
In an article published on Friday, NBC News cited four sources who said that Trump had been complaining about Perdue.
One source told NBC that Trump was not planning to visit Georgia to stump for Perdue due to his belief that Perdue is struggling and that his race against incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp is all but lost.
"David either has a bunch of geniuses working for him — because he's basically spent no money — or he's run the most flawed campaign in America," the anonymous source said, per the outlet.
NBC also reported how Perdue's campaign had been outspent in ads, citing data from political action committees. The outlet stated that Perdue's PAC had put out only around $280,000 worth of ads, while Kemp's PAC is on track to spend more than $1 million in campaign advertising.
Perdue has not been performing well ahead of the Georgia GOP primaries.
According to a survey done for Fox News published on Wednesday, Perdue is trailing far behind Fox — 60% of the respondents who voted early or cast absentee ballots surveyed between May 12 and 16 said they voted for Kemp, while 28% said they picked Perdue.
A representative for Perdue did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. LINK

I live here and I have seen almost NOTHING for Perdue, not even yard signs. None. I see more signs for fringe candidates I've never even heard about.

I live in MTG’s district which is a place where Perdue should campaign heavily.
I haven’t seen him and outside a very few advertisements would not even know he was running if not for Tiger Droppings or Steve Bannon.
He is a pathetic candidate.

So Trump is helping to fracture the Repub party and enable fat Stacey to steamroll. He needs to focus on his own campaign and quit endorsing lackey losers. There are at least two senatorial candidates more qualified than Herschel.

I wish she would have thrown her name in the hat for the GA governorship.
Looks likes its the lesser of two evils in GA, Kemp who is a RINO or abrams, a racist incompetent POS.

while that may be,
Herschel is more qualified than either of GAs current senators.

Kandiss Taylor is one of them. Her slogan is “Jesus, Guns, Babies”. She is definitely MAGA and borderline Q. If Trump was really capable of vetting a candidate, he would have backed her. Now all he has done is piss in Kemp’s cheerios and greatly diminish our chances.

While that may be, someone has to beat Warlord and the other two could whereas Herschel probably can’t. He has no idea how to govern.

Like I’ve been saying…. Kemp will crush Perdue
Perdue is an awful candidate….you can hate Kemp all you want but it doesn’t change how bad of a candidate Perdue is.
I suspect Trump and Kemp willl sit down before the primaries. Trump doesn’t want Stacey in charge of Georgia

Pull the endorsement before the election, and he can claim that “his candidate” did not lose. Hell, he can kiss and make-up with Kemp, provide an endorsement and claim a “win.” Typical Trump

While I hate Kemp, it's time to circle the wagons around him to fight the fat demon he'll be running against. Yes, Kemp is establishment at this point, but what the fat demon would do to Georgia would be devastating.

Ok big boy, find something in print that shows Perdon’t is winning.

And that is such a douche maneuver. He needs to worry about his campaign for ‘24 and refrain from continuing to endorse losers while riling his base to support them. In this case he should do a late in the game endorsement of Kemp.

Probably smart. Perdue is a total loser. Queen Stacey would demolish him

True dat - when it is a binary choice always choose the path least likely to be catastrophic.
Even if it prolongs existing pain.
