1. I’m not a leftist
2. I wasn’t alive during Vietnam
3. Nothing about Trump screams selfless or brave

If my son was in there, yes. If your son or daughter was in there, you would go in without hesitation. 99% of the people on this board... dem, rep, liberal, etc.. would go in unarmed if their son/daughter had been in that building.

The % drops waaaaay down if you don't have family in there. Easy to say you would go in after the fact. Most would not.

You know it's possible to not be a "lefty" and still be objectively critical of the president, right?

In the time I've spent lurking this batshit poli board, I can say no, they don't understand that.

Meh, we know that there are a few people not on the Left who are objectively critical of the president

The rest of people not on the Left who are critical of President Trump are not being objectively critical of the president. We call them NeverTrumpers.

Yet he didn't flee the country to avoid serving. So there's that.

It's more than hilarious.

It's also disingenuous.

Im probably considered a "leftist" around here, but IF I was around in the 60's I would have looked down on it then as well. He is a coward and wouldn't do shite.

Irrelevant but Trump was a liberal.

During the Vietnam war, the Left was telling everyone to avoid the draft by any means necessary regardless of whether they were on the left or on the right.

Why the change now?

All three are irrelevant but since I now know you weren't even alive during the Vietnam war, you should refrain from putting down anyone including President Trump if they avoided the draft by any means necessary.

Well you weren't around in the 60s but I was and ALL the lefties back then (including me) wanted everyone including Trump to avoid the draft by any means necessary.

Why the change now?

you are asking me why I changed my opinion on an issue that I wasn't around for in the first place?

This would be for me without question. My kids and I wouldn't even give it a second thought.

Not my kids...I honestly probably wouldn't.

No.

I am asking you why do you think the sore loser lefties are now changing their old position during the Vietnam war that everyone should avoid the draft by any means necessary to their new position of condemning President Trump because he did exactly what the Left wanted everyone including him to do back then?

Why do you suppose the opposite is also mostly true?
