This is from Conn Carroll, who is the communications director for Mike Lee (R) of Utah:

I want to believe, but we've been seeing talking points like this for all 2 years of his Presidency and most of it doesn't pan out the way we hope.

Why wouldn’t this come from the Whitehouse?

Trump could have explained it at the podium today.

If this were true, I don't think he'd have declared the national emergency. What would be the point?

This.

If the funding without ED or legislation was there the whole time, why has this been such a drawn out event? Build it.

As Trump might say: "those are just details".

Our President wasn't lying when he said it was going to be a Big Beautiful WALL!

Would it have made a difference? I think not. He'd be chastised if he volunteered to pay for it himself. Guaranteed. Just the word wall causes people to trip out.

Pretty sure this is more Mick Mulvaney than Trump.

Trump just knows he wants a wall. He doesn't know enough about how all of this stuff works to call the shots as to how to get it done.

But Mick Mulvaney does. Trump wants the wall, and Mick Mulvaney has worked to make it happen.

My guess is he is going to watch the media and dems have a shite fest orgasm. Then he is going to sit and wait for the prime moment to shove it back up their arse.

Clearly this isn't the preferred method, he wanted (and tried) to get Congress to do it's job and do it the right way.

Also figuring all this out and the correct codes, as well as the available funds to pull from each place and the validity within the law had to have taken quite a bit of time.

Its easy for us to read in tweet form and ask "why didn't we just do this to begin with?" but someone put in a LOT of work to figure all that out.

Why you always got to be like this? You act as if the WALL isn't already being built and as if TRUMP hasn't already delivered on all his promises.

The great thing about this is, they can fight the NED and may even win, but they aren't stopping The Wall, The Money's already there.

This is what makes this all so confusing. If this story is true, why hasn't any of the press reported it at all?

Well, he says the press is missing it.

This stuff just happened. They might not be aware yet.

He tries to keep all of his promises, which I am happy and proud to say.

I just think he hasn't been playing 4D chess and owning the Dems (and GOPe) in negotiations the way we all hoped he might.

He's fought for MAGA like no other President in our lifetimes. I love him, just have become more pessimistic about what he can truly accomplish with the Deep State / Media / 52% of the country plus tens of millions of illegals fighting against us constantly.

Because they’re the enemy of the American people.
