GP: Trump Hints at Eliminating Federal Income Tax—Explains How He’d Replace The Tax Revenue

quote:

First, he proposed no tax on tips, then no tax on overtime for hourly workers, and now, the man who connects more with the lower, middle, and upper earners than any President in recent history, is talking about giving every American the biggest tax break they’ve ever experienced—NO tax—at least no federal taxes.

Earlier this week, President Trump stopped by a Bronx barbershop with Fox News personality Lawrence Jones. There, he talked about inflation and taxes with the all-male clientele, barbers, the barbershop’s owner, and his father.

One male barber asked President Trump, “Do you believe that at some point and time, once the country’s back on its feet, and getting enough revenue, and paying off our debt, do you think it’s possible to find a way to eliminate federal taxes?”

Trump said,” There is a way! There is a way!” he repeated, explaining, “You know, in the old days, when we were smart, a smart country—in the 1890s, our country was relatively the richest it ever was.” He continued, “It had all tariffs; it didn’t have an income tax.”

Do they go after those small ticket items because they know your client won't have the receipt?

The idea can be solid if implemented right

The idea was so solid that we already had to ditch it once because it didn't raise enough money and only raised consumer prices.

I’m curious to see if some of them comprehend what this says about tariffs.

Everybody wants lower taxes / no taxes. But til you lay out a plan how it will work most people won't get behind it. I'm in my 70's and my SS and Medicare is why I can keep my head above water. But he has to lay out a plan to prove to me it will work.

The income tax system is a garbage system conceived over 100 years ago.

We have a banking system to support. We can’t get rid of the 16th and income taxes. The people making money off of usury like the Rothschilds will lose money.

Any tax policy unless already legislatively abdicated by congress to the executive has to pass congress. Great to talk about but Congress implements tax policy for the most part.

Can you imagine the media spin if he got rid of income taxes and people were cut off from getting the earned income tax credit?

As a business owner, if he could pull this off, it would be one of the best days of my life.
