Lets just be gracious and assume 0 are spying or going back home. How are 500k more high skilled foreigners beneficial when we already have issues in our skilled labor market?

Yep. Programmers and computer scientists are being laid off right now. Importing more people to take those jobs will be a disaster.

And in 2020, he revoked thousands of visas of Chinese grad students and researchers here. It was one of my favorite things he did in his first term. Times have changed.
