but I have a question for you.

In my active time here (which isn’t long) I don’t see you “asking questions”. I see you drive by posting your position and then running off because you are(or appear to be) too big of a pussy to stay around and defend said position.

This makes you a waste of space and time in a forum like this

Have a nice day !!

I don’t think targeting really comes into it. Because what strikes me is that let’s say our people had a 98% guarantee that their ordinance would strike the precisely intended target - a military structure in close proximity to a school. Hell let’s say some sort of computer spit out a reading of 100% guarantee to directly strike the intended target, and not the school adjacent to said target. They’d never even attempt it knowing that school was immediately adjacent.

And nobody’s going to convince me that they didn’t have intelligence as to not just the target, but also the surrounding structures….to ward off this exact scenario. Therefore, them certainly knowing of the proximity of a school, if it was a legitimate school (insomuch as it perhaps wasn’t just loaded with kids and called a school as some sort of belief of protection against a strike if it were known to all) they’d never have pressed that particular target.

Did you read the rest of my post after saying I was an infantryman?

Yep. None of that addressed my question about your knowledge of the destruction capabilities of anti-aircraft missiles. I thought that was a pretty clear question.

You flews combat missions?

You worked in the CAOC?

Interesting.

I don’t disagree. I just don’t see why it’s so much more plausible it’s us than Iran to a few here

Because they want it to be the United States.

That would be a negative for the United States.

More importantly, it would be a negative for President Trump.

That is all that matters to them.

I flew circles looking for bad guys. It was incredibly boring.

Like I said. I’m no expert but I am somewhat familiar with targeting and what mistakes can be made.

Do you think the Iranians act with the same caution when faced with live fire? In our obviously learned opinion

Nope. My knowledge of what happened in Iran is the same as yours. You choose to go with plausibility. I choose probability. Unless, of course, during some of your combat flights you learned that Irans capabilities and competencies were greater than ours.

I would love to hear those stories.

I think they (the leadership at the various levels) think first and think always with malicious intentions.

Bohicaman has expressly stated he really doesn’t. And yet he just won’t get off the position that it’s far more likely the US than Iran.

Seems odd……

My man. You’re ignoring the entire point. Of course it’s plausible. My question is if it is probable? Who do you think was more likely to frick up. Your fellow pilots or Irans?

Thanks for your input on both parties

I agree with both your positions and I believe they both are logical and consistent with historical fact

I still don’t know what happened. Nor does anybody. But to give the benefit of the doubt to the side you describe above seems very odd to me

Well in this case with the speed and the massive number of target sets it would lead me to be very cautious to put money on anything other than a frick up by the good guys

I hope I am wrong.

I know you aren’t replying to me but I don’t think it was our pilots. The building used to be part of the navy base. We attacked the base without knowing that the particular building had been turned into a school. It sucks. Someone in the kill chain missed it. It sucks. These things happen in war.
