so we expect more indictments against Manfort? because what he was indicted for has literally nothing to do with Pap's case do we think that the prosecutor is threatening Manafort when he already dropped like 10 charges on him today?
Likely yes. He's taking rock solid stuff to the Grand Jury now.
My guess is he's still building the case for whichever laws he's going to chose for "collusion".

How would Papadopolus know that the “Professor” had substantial connections to Russian government officials?
Because she told him that she did... and he believed her.

I think it’s a man.
How would Pap know to approach this guy in the first place?

The "professor" is a woman. He approached her because he thought she would have high reaching connections with the Russian government.

That’s not what I’m seeing.
I see a reference to another party as “a certain female Russian national.”

You are correct. The "professor" isn't identified as a man or a woman.

The professor is being identified as Joseph Misfud. I’m not seeing any obvious connections to Russia.
How would Pap know to get in touch with this guy?

i thought that person approached pap, initially
*ETA: no it appears he approached the prof, but only after the prof claimed to have ties to Russia (p5)

The way it’s written I can’t really tell.
Was this stuff just the product of a random conversation?

i agree and almost used that as my out to edit, but i took my error like a man and left it up un-edited

the way teh paragraph reads? yes
but since Russia is involved, i seriously doubt it
also, i have to say again, Pap comes off as a complete try hard in that entire indictment
prof won't talk to him at first and he keeps up
he tries to show off that he can get a meeting for literally months until somebody bites...and still doesn't get to go
it's kind of sad to think about all that try hard and it leading to a felony conviction that may ruin his life

In reading this thread, it appears they really don't have anything on Manafort related explicitly to Trump collusion aside from maybe a couple of emails and or approvals to allow Pap to continue talking with Russians to see what might be available insofar as Oppo Research - but , since they've possibly nailed Manafort on totally different crimes, they use those crimes as leverage to exaggerate Trump or his son on the collusion charge?

The kind of stuff he was suggesting is fricking stupid for a republican nominee for POTUS to do in a time where the media is as aggressively liberal partisan as they are and with a federal government bureaucracy where at least 90% of employees are democrat donors who are looking for anything they can leak to shite all over conservatives/republicans.
He apparently came over from Ben Carson's campaign and I bet that he was very green and just didn't know any better but then again that's something that should be common sense to him.

Oh he may have hit a grand slam alright.
Just call that grand slam a very uncomfortable few news cycles for the guy he worked for.
THere's a whole lot lessons to be learned in this debacle and I'll list them here.
1.) For the emails and meeting with Russians, Never ever leave a paper trail for any unsavory, unethical and possibly illegal things you could find yourself doing and certainly don't do anything to encourage it.
2. ) Don't hire compromised people that could and will have no problem of leaving you out to dry like Sessions and Rosenstein. And get rid of people you don't trust worth a shite like Comey.
3. ) If you want to park money overseas and launder it and skip on taxes, just open a foundation to funnel that money through while doing just enough legit work to keep its cover.

And if he's fired or forced to resign for his cover-up on Uranium One?
He should have fired the bullet that would inflict the most damage first
