Ironically, what you apparently really want is a King.

For those complaining about the "loss" of history, this is basically what is being replaced (everything to the right of the Garden Room on the first floor):
As far as I can tell, the Kennedy Garden, theater, and Colonnade are staying.
ETA: Welp, I was mistaken, the whole East Wing up to the main residence is gone.

Has it really been 20 days?
I haven't noticed a single thing different in my life.

The East Wing was first built in 1902 by Teddy Roosevelt. FDR added on to it in 1942 mainly to conceal the new Presidential Emergency Operations bunker.
1902 and 1942 don't seem recent to me.

Key Renovation Milestones
Original Construction (1792-1800): Designed by architect James Hoban, the White House was built using sandstone and neoclassical design principles. It was completed in 1800, just in time for President John Adams to move in.
Reconstruction After the War of 1812 (1814-1817): The White House was severely damaged when British troops set it on fire during the War of 1812. The interior was completely destroyed, and Hoban was tasked with restoring it. The reconstruction was completed in 1817, with the addition of the North and South Porticos in the following years.
2
Theodore Roosevelt Renovation (1902): President Roosevelt oversaw significant renovations that modernized the White House, including the construction of the West Wing, which provided dedicated office space for the president and staff. This renovation aimed to create a more functional workspace while maintaining the building's historical integrity.
2
Harry S. Truman Renovation (1948-1952): By the late 1940s, the White House was found to be structurally unsound. Truman authorized a complete gutting and rebuilding of the interior while preserving the outer walls. This renovation included modernizing the infrastructure and adding a steel frame for support.
2
Subsequent Changes and Updates: Since Truman's renovation, every president has made changes to the White House. Notable updates include the addition of the East Wing in 1942, which provided more office space and included a bomb shelter during World War II. Jacqueline Kennedy also made significant contributions in the 1960s, enhancing the White House's cultural significance through art and historical displays.

Ongoing Renovations and Modernization
The White House continues to evolve, with recent renovations focusing on security enhancements and modern amenities. Each presidential administration leaves its mark, whether through aesthetic changes, functional upgrades, or the addition of new facilities like the Situation Room, established during the Kennedy administration for crisis management.
In summary, the White House's renovation history is a testament to its resilience and adaptability, reflecting the changing needs of the nation and its leaders over more than two centuries.

Well, I was going to say how much is it costing tax payers and figured it was a waste.
But I see it says privately funded, so I have no problem at all with this and don't know why anyone would.
