I took a meeting with a potential client a decade ago, and, unbeknownst to me, the same guy had recently made some kind of threat against the President. I declined to represent his interests (in a bogus, decades-old case against a now-deceased entertainer). But, Secret Service was in contact with me less than 2 hours after I wrapped up the meeting.

It was somewhat comforting to know they were actively monitoring threats against POTUS, but it was kind of disturbing at the same time.
