Yes, it will.

DJTs legacy will be trading moderate suburbanites for low propensity voters who he was uniquely able to motivate. For better or worse, the GOP used to be the party of country club elites and Ivy League WASPs. Now it’s overrun with, pardon my french, Q-Anon retards. Downvote all you want, but you know it’s true

Unfortunately Trump is more worried about getting rid of conservatives that actually care about small government.

They have exactly one year to ram through legislation to fix this mess

The Senate says no. And everyone should have already known that. You were never getting your dream legislation through Congress.
quote:

The House will be iffy, and the Senate will be kept, but absolutely none of it will because of two gubernatorial elections in blue states in an off-cycle year. Tonight has nothing to do with the midterms next year.

quote:

Time to get rid of the filibuster and stop playing games. Get it all fixed and now and maybe the positive results will come in time to save the midterms. We aren’t losing because we went too far right. We are losing because the do nothing republicans suck at having power and doing what was promised on the campaign trails

And when a Senate class comes back around that coincides with an electable Dem POTUS candidate…you’d be wishing for the filibuster with all your heart. It is a mechanism totally in line with our constitutional framework. Compromise is what we do. The constitution was only ratified because of compromises on enormously important (at the time) issues. Those guys made concessions, and lots of them.

No shite.

And as far as your thread title, a lot of you need to wake up to the fact that you're the minority here.

Most reasonable people are done with this administration.

It's not a matter of getting it together. This is over. The American people do not want this current form of government and mockery of the constitution and America at the helm.

Harris won NJ by six points in 2024. Last night the Democrats won the Governorship by 13 points.

Republicans are fricked in 2026

Explain how it’s Trump’s fault that Chris’s version of Republicanism had no coattails in his home state.

Or Youngkin’s in his.

Or Bloomberg’s in NYC.

The GOPe is preventing legislation from passing, as was always their plan. They are the Deep State/uniparty backstop in the Senate. It’s why Mitch is sill there and why he had Thune installed because that dying Turtle could croak any second.

So true, but I would add a propensity for a subtle version of socialism masked as American First.
