Americans would sacrifice and choose higher gas prices if we were actually defending the country.
We have no reason being at war with Iran. Simply re-iterate with Iran that if they send one nuke our way, we send 200 nukes immediately to Iran and turn Iran into one big radioactive parking lot.
Become energy independent here in the U.S. and even an energy exporter. Invest in more output here, including development of alternative energy sources.
The best way to beat Iran is to make them largely irrelevant. Make it to where the world doesn't need any Iranian oil or Middle Eastern oil, and let the Middle East live in the dark ages and destroy each other.
I don't choose higher gas prices over the BS forever warn we're in with Iran currently.

And Iran would be fine with that as their entire goal in life is to destroy the US (and Israel). No price would be too high for them.
