Russia deserves condemnation for its invasion of Ukraine, but the US (under Trump) is trying to broker a peace deal, and that would be essentially impossible if we were to co-sponsor this resolution.
From the perspective of realpolitik, the Trump administration is making the right move by steering clear.

I agree with your post but will have to argue this point. We left Russia no choice but to invade Ukraine. Ukraine was not abiding to the Minsk agreements and it later came out this was on purpose to let Ukraine build up their military. The bottom line was this was the Deepstate's/ Victoria Nuland plan to weaken Russia and do Regime change in Russia. John Brennan even admitted in a tweet what the goals were in 2020

The media is absolutely rock hard to destroy these negotiations. They will thrash any move that’s not overtly hostile to Russia. You can already see this type of pressure reflected in Zelenskys behavior.
