We just opened up negotiations with Russia, it would be stupid to agree to that UN resolution as it would immediately dissolve negotiations

Really? Overall Western weapons have created a stalemate for Ukraine against an enemy that could conceivably amass 1 million men. Sounds like little David has Goliath bogged down in the mud making very incremental gains if any.
If you are invading, you best be winning. The Russians may not be losing but what they have, sure does not look anything close to winning since the early days of the war. Russians actually had their asses handed to them on the "blitz" to Kyiv in 2022....or do you remember that part? Javelins crippled the tank advance. Russian Black Sea fleet is underwater in the harbors in Crimea.....is that winning?
Other than the regions around Moscow and St.Pete, Russia is a barely functioning 2nd world country . Not saying Ukraine is much better but they have given the Russians a pretty good pasting. Your boyfriend wants to give them something they have not earned in the battlefield .
