We don’t need permanent nation building all over the damn place. Afghanistan has been a dysfunctional, tribalistic shithole for thousands of years and that will never change.
This.

Even if we leave, we’ll be back again in some capacity within the next two decades.
Only reason we were ever there was due to their aggression against the US. Not a chance they make that mistake again.

Brian Montgomery: As soon as we landed, Mark Rosenker [director of the White House Military Office] and I went off the back stairs. There’s this guy who looks like General Buck Turgidson from Dr. Strangelove, big guy, all decked out in a bomber jacket. He was straight out of central casting. We said, “What do you need?” He said, “See those planes? Every one is loaded with nukes—tell me where you want ’em.” We look over and there are just rows of B-52s, wingtip to wingtip. I joked, “Gosh, don’t tell [the president!].”
I still think somebody should have told the President. We should nuked the crap out of the mountains of Afghanistan and trapped the Al Queda in their caves. UBL would have been crushed to death by collapsing caves and would anybody really mis Afghanistan?

Taliban/ Afghnistan agression towards the U.S.?
Most people in Afghanistan do not even know about 9/11 according to polls: " Some 92% , ,of 25 million people said they were unaware that terrorists flew planes into the World Trade Center ,sparking an invasion..."
Afghans called it " this event foreigners call 9/11" and had no idea what it meant.

Afghanistan is not a winnable war. Already the Taliban is gaining control in areas it lost. In addition, by removing all American troops from the country, the need for the Taliban to harvest more poppies is reduced, since they did this to finance their war against the Americans. And who was buying the opium? The US and Europe of course. We've been financing both sides for some time. You can't get serious about the opium crisis without mentioning the source of most of the world's supply.

Afghanistan has been the world's leading illicit opium producer since 1992 (excluding the year 2001).[1] Afghanistan's opium poppy harvest produces more than 90% of illicit heroin globally, and more than 95% of the European supply.[2][3] More land is used for opium in Afghanistan than is used for coca cultivation in Latin America. In 2007, 93% of the non-pharmaceutical-grade opiates on the world market originated in Afghanistan.[4] This amounts to an export value of about US$4 billion, with a quarter being earned by opium farmers and the rest going to district officials, insurgents, warlords, and drug traffickers.[5] In the seven years (1994–2000) prior to a Taliban opium ban, the Afghan farmers' share of gross income from opium was divided among 200,000 families.[6] As of 2017, opium production provides about 400,000 jobs in Afghanistan, more than the Afghan National Security Forces.[7] In addition to opium, Afghanistan is also the world's leading producer of hashish.[8][9]. Almost 85% of the villages in the country's south cultivate opium poppies. The drug economy provides regular and somewhat reliable income to rural people in this extremely unstable country. The drug sector has been estimated to be worth between $4.1 billion and $6.6 billion, which would amount to about 20% to 32% of the country's gross domestic product in 2017.[10]

The ANA and ANP aren’t fully ready.
Pakistan doesn’t care especially since the western half of the country are Pashtuns as well. Let them all kill each other off
