We’re better at defense than we were in 2001. We don’t need permanent nation building all over the damn place. Afghanistan has been a dysfunctional, tribalistic shithole for thousands of years and that will never change.

Withdraw all Americans from Afghanistan, South Korea, Germany, Italy, etc. They all need to be brought back to the homeland.

I never said I wasn’t happy about this. It’s long overdue.
I’m simply commenting on the objective fact that us leaving will simply allow ISIS and AQ more freedom to operate in the region.
The ANA and ANP aren’t capable of handling security by themselves, and Pakistan isn’t too concerned with handling the situation either.
Eventually, we will be back.

Come on man thats harsh . Even if you believe 11 Afgans coke junkies with box cutters and very little experience flying aircraft much less jumbo jets pulled off 9/11.
