Interesting, and I'm not arguing against that. I know my grandmother was a teacher in the 30s and most of the kids in La were illiterate. Small communities is what I'd be worried about. Maybe grandma wasn't a good teacher, I don't know but she use to pick all her kids up at 4 am and take them to her country school, cut their hair, feed them, and then teach. Saying that, kids in small towns back then (in the deep South) weren't very educated.

Keep in mind the DOE withholds money from school districts that want to keep criminals and mass shooters out

The only thing the feds should do is statistically track success and failure in the schools to document it to know what works and what doesn't.

It’s possible the people at the bottom were pulled up slightly while the people at the top were pulled down.
But it’s possible for a program to outlive its usefulness. I think unions back in the 1900s were probably a great idea. Now notsomuch.
