There’s a large portion of VA that isn’t too happy with this last general assembly. I think Virginia is actually purple but had a fluke voting season.

Massive immigration plus fed workers (which would increase under Sanders) tells me Virginia is blue.

I have a few close friends who live in Northern Virginia. The government class loathes Trump.

Why is NJ in play of Sanders gets the nod? Pharmaceutical industry?

That is part of it. Historically, money and super pacs go a long way in NJ. Along with loss of Union support and love for Trump by ex NY’er retirees. Places like Monmouth County will sku heavy red from moderate swing. Couple these things with a tax agenda in a severely overtaxed state and I think it will be closer than people think.

If Bernie is the Democrat bucking for POTUS, I see something closer to Reagan/Mondale for the map.

I like your enthusiasm but it's unlikely we will see a candidate take 49 out of 50 states ever again.

Example?

Plenty of examples of behavior that I don’t like or think reflects well on the office or the country. The name calling and all that jazz. I think he’s a poor representative of the United States.

You think otherwise. Great.

The name calling is super petty I just think the actual body of work he's done far outweighs his behavior.

Neither do I, which is why Bernie scares me more than the rest of you.

Moderate Democrats are no longer a thing.

The Bill Clinton-era Democrats officially went extinct in 2016.

All that is left are the Bernie-style Democrats and hardcore leftists.

By a long shot.

The pettiness is cringe inducing at times, but I do not care about it as long as he shows results, which he has in spades.

Eh I think people are forgetting how close the Florida governors election was. I believe Gilliam was a Bernie bro and he lost with 49.2% of the vote. I think it’ll likely go red but saying it’s locked down red is some wishful thinking.

Agree 100%. I live near the GM plant in Spring Hill, TN. All the union guys on the line during the strike last fall put the blame for the strike firmly on the shoulders of Mary Barra, an Obama lap dog. I don't recall ANY of them saying they would vote against Trump.

And Trump told Mary to get em back to work.

That's not happening. Mondale only won Minnesota and D.C. Some liberals may not like Sanders, but that isn't going to turn all but 2-3 states red.

I think people are underrating just how much moderate Dems don’t want a socialist president. They might not vote for Trump but they sure as hell don’t want a radical fricking socialist running the country. The current DNC does not equal their at-large voter base.

Which is why it is very important for all conservative voters to get out even in states they feel their vote hasn't mattered. It just might this year.

I don’t think there is an ounce of complacency on the GOP side. Trump is shattering record turnouts in primaries and he absolutely will not cut back on campaigns. He’s a machine when he gets in to campaign mode.

His supporters are pissed off from the last 3 years of bull.

I truly don’t see any scenario where conservatives don’t come out for him because of Bernie being perceived as an easy win.

Is Virginia that jacked up? I understand it would likely go Democrat with another candidate, but Bernie could feasibly win it - really?

So really all Trump has to do is win Pennsylvania and it’s over.

All he needs is 2/3 of AZ, WI and PA.

Yes, Bernie could win it.

It would be due to the US Government crowd that lives in NOVA.

They HATE Trump.

If there is a place, besides CA, where people will cut off their nose to spite their face, NOVA is that place.

Yeah, he does now. Just saying we shouldn’t write off Florida as locked down red yet. I think this election will be the defining one.
