Kamala proposes she will end taxes on overtime pay.
A Democrat actually got a no state tax on overtime bill through the Alabama legislature last year and it went into effect Jan 1
Trump stole it from the democrats

Then they should be all for it. Right?

Do you know what “should” means?
Yep.
It means "ought."
Like I said, you made an "ought" statement of the type that inalienable rights are made of.
"Should/ought" statements of that type appeal to morality/ethics/justice.
You made the claim that it is morally right that no one ought to pay income taxes on remittance for an arbitrary number of hours that you just pulled out of your dumb arse.
I'd like to see you connect those dots. Exactly why "should" someone pay taxes on payment for 39 hours of labor, but not 41?

I honestly don't hate it. And would love to see it cover folks with two jobs working 60-80 hours a week should pay off.

If I have a second job should it be entirely tax free?
That’s pretty definitely a hypothetical. I seriously doubt you work a first job.

They think overtime is currently taxed higher. They're bad at thinking.
Made a small tweak.
I agreed before the tweak, now I agree even more.

Except Trump never took a salary.

If this is implemented it would be a game changer. I worked every break from school doing industrial electrical work to help pay my way through college and grad school. My dad and all my uncles were either electricians or mill right workers. They would work overtime to keep the wolves away. Because regular time wasn’t enough. Good bless the wrench turners, the wire pullers, the boys burning their eyes in the welding arcs, and the guys that work the 60-84 hours because the pay in 40 wasn’t enough.
The backbone of America.
The backbone of America.

I don’t see why not. If it’s over 40 hours then it only seems fair.

See, I think the backbone of America is the small business owners that EMPLOY over half of the American workforce and write the checks to those wire pullers, wrench turners, etc.
How do they get a tax break, since a 40 hour workweek to most of them is a joke? At least in the first 5-10 years of getting a business going.

The trillions spent on the last 20 years of war would have fixed SS/Medicare. Would this make the war mongering W and the Obamas feel warm and fuzzy inside? Maybe not, but good for the average American.

You moron. You think you can just breeze right over the fact you misread my comment and thought it said something it didn’t.

Not even close. Not by over an order of magnitude.
Since 2001 we've spent $2.3 T on war. That's barely ONE YEAR's worth of SS/Medicare.
We're $35 T in debt.
It wouldn't have even moved the needle.
It amazes me how many of y'all complain so bitterly about what the US spends money on when you obviously have no clue what we actually spend money on.

LOL.
It says what it says.
It says that no one OUGHT to have to pay income taxes on more than 40 hours worth of labor.
Does it not?

It doesn’t matter what the rate is. By not charging taxes, he is literally letting people keep their earnings that will be invested, spent into the economy, etc.
I only get paid overtime for certain parts of the year. I’m also basically forced to work it so it isn’t a choice. But after an extra 60 hours of work on the road , you look at your check and you are disgusted. Because you worked two and a half times as much and made a quarter more. It’s bullshite.
The rate matters because people are under the impression that it changes for OT pay. You seem to be under that impression as well. I posted a long explanation for how this works, from an accountant. Your tax rate is based on income, not the type of pay you get.
I'm all for cutting taxes. The only problem I have with this is that Trump has no complementary plan to reduce spending. I do believe in a stimulus effect from reduced taxes, but we must also reduce spending.
