I'm sure NYC could succeed in without it, but it wouldn't be the same NYC

I'm not really a "diversity is our strength" guy, but diversity is obviously a huge part of the character of New York and while it could be a productive powerhouse without it, it would cease to be anything resembling New York

"multiculturalism" is the right's version of "racism"

both are used with such a sweeping scope they have no real meaning anymore

Is that multiculturalism or a "melting pot"?

My distinction is enforced vs organic.

"Separate but equal" ring a bell?

Rest of the world has no problems comparatively because they did NOT take the Separate but equal path.

Races integrate into the UK and they all sound alike, act alike, assimilate into the ONE. Not just blacks, India, HK, etc.. Can't tell who you're talking to racially in UK usually.

At least until Mooselimbs invaded.

Separate but Equal is our problem.

I’m super pro legal immigration IN PRINCIPLE. I’m married to a Vietnamese immigrant. My grandfather was a Polish immigrant. Unlike the racialists-I’m even all for a multi racial assimilated American culture.

America has a DISTINCT culture. I’d like to see a country where carefully vetted immigrants embrace and enjoy THAT culture outside of the home. While in the home they do what they choose. As they have done until this very culturally destructive current era. Pretty simple- these are our distinct American traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions. Learn them and honor them and make this country better by doing so.

But as you know- immigration and multi culturalism are two completely separate things. Multiculturalism as currently composed, is essentially anti- American Marxist doctrine. It exists to destroy American traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions.

I think it is part of the issue

We have had multiculturalism forced down our throats to support the globalist agenda. People are tired of it and it got Trump elected.

Now the other side is frustrated because things aren’t going their way.

A lack of a desire for assimilation leads to easy exploitation later on by the Marxists. But the side-by-side cultures isn’t an inherent problem that should keep our country from succeeding.

I personally think it's tricky, because the balance is one where there are core tenets of American life that HAVE to be adopted by immigrants (language, handful of key ideals, pride, productivity), but I think at some point the concept of the melting pot plays into the hands of our enemies (because the promotion will be to water down our systems/values into others rather than vice versa).

Ideally, true pluralism would involve retention of some very visible/outward cultural markers, but nonetheless keeping us pulling in the same direction on bigger items (rule of law, importance of religion, economic liberty, national pride, etc.)

We don’t NEED multiple cultures. We have ONE distinct AMERICAN culture. And it is quite an achievement for Mankind- the most prosperous society in human history. Immigrants that embrace that will prosper. Immigrants that want to reinvent their homeland here- should return to their homeland.

True. And this is why we need the government to come clean about the "aliens." We eventually need something that will force humanity to look at themselves not as Americans, Europeans, etc, but as one human family instead. It's the only way we are going to transcend differences among the races enough to live together peacefully. Imo

Going to be a lot of triggered libs when they find out our alien allies are tall with blonde hair and blue eyes

Anyone who thinks multiculturalism is a good thing has never studied the history of the Austro-Hungarian Empire or the Roman Empire.

The thing about empires is, at some point expansion stops and contraction starts, and that's when the shite hits the fan. The multiculturalism you refer to is a side effect of imperial expansion.

Just as a hypothetical—If given a choice between forced assimilation and socially engineered and enforced antagonism towards assimilation I’d choose the former. That said, I agree with you that most immigrants will assimilate over time. The failure is not that they come from shitty countries or have a certain skin tone, it’s that they are specifically being told by us in a million little ways that there is nothing really worth preserving about America other than our wealth creation opportunities.
