I think most with a brain realize this guy had help at some point.

Yeah, a "so far" in front of my "imo" should have been added. IMO again, I'm not sure we'll ever know all of the details even though all of the details will be known by someone.

I think you heard conspiracy when Gowdy seems to be saying someone knew something about this guy acting suspicious or acting weird, paranoid, etc...

For this to be a conspiracy then someone would have to know what the shooter had planned. Don't think Gowdy is saying this at all.

"Statements, evidence, and facts are not compelling."

College student makes a statement...conspiracy.

I don't know. Let's just assume for the sake of argument that this guy definitely was the planner in executor of the event. This ain't some trailer trash dude with no money. He's a man of means. If there's someone out there who could execute such an event while tying up a lot of loose ends he would probably be the guy.

Now if the guy was some loser and 6 months from now they told me that all evidence pointed to him doing the entire thing with no assistance regarding acquiring the equipment or anything else I would probably cross my eyes.

yeah getting the stuff to the room is no great challenge at all. People acting like that was some major feet for one guy don't have very creative minds

Was this guy capable of all this military type tactics? His history just doesn't support it imo.

He had to have trained for this - period. Recently. Someone doesn't decide on a Thursday, even, to do this on a Sunday. This is months, if not years in the works.

Now - that doesn't mean he wasn't acting alone (or perhaps with his SO's knowledge) - but it does mean there was a long time of planning.

Heck, before the volcano, I had a number of weapons and a lot of ammo, myself. Doesn't mean I'm planning for anything other than scarcity, period. I fear the takeaway from this is that anyone who has guns as a hobby - and there are millions of us - will now be viewed as suspect because of this extraordinarily rare, but tragic incident.

(Long guns remain highly rare as instruments of crime - handguns kill far, far more Americans than long guns.)

If there is more to this story then Trey Gowdy is the right guy to never find it while making tough guy speeches.

Possibly, but what about housekeeping? Did he just keep the maids away? The guy had close to a dozen weapons and thousands of rounds of ammo in the room. Where was he hiding all that stuff?

It is easy to keep housekeeping out. Simply have the DND sign on the door (or light on), or simply request at the front desk not to have housekeeping. Some Vegas hotels encourage or incentivize visitors not to use housekeeping.

Yeah...I'm still waiting on Maxine's presser before I even start speculating on any of this. The reason he broke out two windows was because he knew the wind coming in would cause the build to tip over without a way to channel out the other side.

And this is one example of why Trey Gowdy is an idiot.

Yep. But it's faaar easier to see in hindsight than while its happening. I don't think people should call the cops every time they see anything they consider out of place.

The biggest screw up is housekeeping not alerting someone that they have not been allowed to clean someone's room in 4 days.
