I work in the cancer diagnostic field. When tissue goes to the lab, it has demo's that go with it. If a specimen shows up to the grosser as "prostate" "female" "45". That will delay the diagnostics/diagnosis/treatment since they would need to go back to check on the accessioned information. Mixing up tissue is a serious problem and wrong demographics with tissue is a sure as hell easy way to realize something is wrong.
If they push this conforming to what they want to be known as in the medical field it will lead errors, delays and you will begin to hear about lesser quality treatment for those subjects. That is why it troubles me to hear the medical field bowing to a psychiatric problem instead of biology.
