Hey Joe, no worries all of these people can just switch careers easily. Especially the ones who majored in Oil and Gas.

Not a very smart comment by him considering the industry is already struggling

We can just print some more PPP or unemployment money for them. It's no big deal.

Exactly, that’s what these Democrats do not understand. It’s just like his position with taxes, “I will only raise the tax on those making 400K or more”. Well, guess who that impacts in the end? It trickles down to the middle class.

Hey, nobody you run into at the coffee shops in Brooklyn, the Bay area, Seattle, or Georgetown seems to work in oil and gas. That tells you everything.

The typical number I've been told it's for every direct employee of chem plants, oil refineries, and offshore accounts for 10 jobs in the community

Don't forget that people that work in those jobs that have spouses or other family members how that will affect them. That is such a massaive amount of people to impact negatively. That is just the way the left works.

Sure and those chemical engineers and petroleum engineers and geologists can all become environmental engineers at half the salary in a few years. And those guys on the rigs can work at McDonalds and go on Bidencare trade that $45/hr job for the $15 guaranteed wage until they are replaced by a touch screen

That’s insane. This whole climate change shite was made up by the Democrats as a pandering technique to their base and now it has morphed into something that could actually happen if they gain power.

Government would lose a ton of tax dollars, income, sales, severance and property taxes. That revenue would have to be made up elsewhere. The public better prepare for massive tax increases as well.

That's a 2011 number...since 2014 I'd bet that number, at least on the E&P and midstream side, is 1/2 of what it was. The IB's have had pretty significant layoffs, too. PE is next in line to get crushed. Chemicals is probably solid except for covid slowdown and some related cuts. I couldn't guess what the numbers are now but it isn't close to 9.8MM or 5.6% and it won't match those numbers again.
