Wish this shite would have happened when I was in high school. Would have loved a 30 day break
Could you imagine being able to skip the end of the year testing and prep... in wonderful spring weather... with nothing else to do, but "netflix and chill"?
Kids these days get all the breaks.

Infectious disease experts even understand that you do more harm than good (unintended consequences, both medical and especially financial) by shutting down grammar and high schools.

Lol. This is going fricking bonkers.

1. This likely means that (against the CDC's recommendation) it will put more elderly at risk because the grandparents will likely be the ones to take care of the kids while they are out of school.

2. Young people are largely unaffected by this. What the frick is 30 days going to do?
What happens when a new case is identified in the state on April 14th? We going to shutdown forever?
What happens when flu season comes around again in the fall?

The way our media Liberal officials are handling this.
I've never seen anything so embarrassing in my whole life.

They carry and transmit. They aren’t immune.

You can see here what one day can do, let alone 30.

Ignore the author and scroll down to the data.

30 is absurd IMo. As is canceling entire spring sports.

Most nurses are females.

Most females have children.

Closing the schools will burden the healthcare system if hospitals get wild.

I’m waiting for the afterbirth of some of this.

A number of individuals use schools as glorifies day cares and free lunch providers for their kids.

If schools are out for an extended period of time, how long until there is whining about how LA Purchase cards need extra money added?

Can also contribute to the knowing someone in the Gov. office who says the 30-day closure will be announced today.

Also heard April 13th. Tax day is April 15th. Surely you didn’t think the government would stop collecting taxes.

People that are falling for this are almost as bad as the people taking advantage of it.

This will happen. My daughter is a senior and her senior class was informed today of the cancel events which my include graduation. The principle also told them today will probably be the last time they walk the halls as a student.

what an awesome way to spread hysteria.... tell someone else's child "this is it".

You might as well cancel school from December to February which is the peak of influenza each year
