It's ok for the government to hide developing war technologies from the public.
It is not ok for them to hide scientific information about the universe (existence of and interaction with extraterrestrials, etc) or technology that benefits everyone (free energy, non-military use of anti-gravity, etc).

I bet you are ok with the federal govt dictating how much water you use to flush your toilet, but we can’t know how our money is spent?
What are you talking about? Are you retarded? This isn't anything like regulating civilian water usage.
Some things would be ineffective if the government exposed them. Secrecy is required for the success of some things. Spies, undercover agents, sting operations, the locations of secret defense missile launch stations, details on upcoming raids, classified information, the list is almost endless. Just because *YOU* want to know, doesn't mean you have the right to know. Some things are in the national interest to keep undercover.

There are things that the general public don’t need to know about. It’s not so much that they don’t want Americans to know, they don’t want potential enemies to know. If all our of defense R&D was just left out in the open, we wouldn’t have much of a defense.

The Department of Defense is going to spend $686 billion of taxpayer money this year. Should the American public have the right to know, generally, what they're doing with it?
Yes, and generally, we do.

What wars have been won because of secret technology? What terrorist attacks have been prevented?
Why in the world would we want to put that kind of information out to the world?

Do American citizens have a right to know what's in Area 51?
lol...Your state funded universities can close football practices and you don't have a right to be there to watch. Yet you think American Citizens have a right to know what goes on at Area 51?

In that case the question becomes whether they were ever effective in the first place. Secret weapons didn't win Korea, didn't win Vietnam, didn't win the Cold War, didn't stop 9/11, and didn't make a difference in Afghanistan or Iraq.
You conveniently left out WW2.
The US didn't win in Korea or Vietnam, but it had to do with shitty politicians, and ROE, not the weapons our military had at their disposal.
You have no clue what secret weapons did for us in the Cold War, and we went right back to the shitty politicians and ROE for Afghanistan and Iraq.

I'm thinking that anyone who storms Area 51 is in for a very big surprise.
And the surprise will not have anything to do with aliens or extraterrestrial technology.

I think its great that 1.5 million have signed up to jump the fence at Area 51 . the federal government has so totally blown away the concept of rule of law that no one has any respect for the law anymore. I have heard that the average American breaks 90-120 laws a day. congress critters cross the border and actively train illegal immigrants how to get to the head of the line by breaking the law. fbi and fed attorneys are the worst lawbreakers. irs blatantly denies Reb political orgs .
