My life hasn't changed one bit.
You're making an argument for getting rid of those regulations altogether.

Why do people still believe that shutdowns don't affect anything?
Who has said this?

Maybe the Dems should stop going on vacation and get to work

O&G companies aren't getting permits. Breweries aren't getting approvals. Lots of other regulatory holdups multiplied by an entire economy. Even the Trump admin is officially indicating that economic growth will be harmed.
I'm good with exposing the overarching tentacles of the federal government.
Muh federal beer regulations!!!

Should these things be held up by government? Arguably not. But they are.
It makes you wonder why the dems are doing this for such a small fraction of the budget.

So you agree Chuck Pelosi should be meeting with Trump

I would be in favor or reopening the government in whatever way possible. I'm trying to dispel the stupid arse myths that I read here every day saying things like "oh Trump's gonna get a bunch or people canned" or "shutdowns don't affect anything"

And the american people are noticing this...and not in the way the Democrats want.

Anyone who isn't latched to living off the government and their 'programs' lives have been virtually unchanged.
So, unless you are a government leech there is very little to no day to day difference than any other time.

So you think GDP will be unaffected in Q1?

Yep, support for the wall continues to climb.

It appears it may end with a whimper rather than a bang.

When President Donald Trump signs a bill guaranteeing back pay for furloughed federal workers Wednesday afternoon, it will be a rare moment of bipartisan agreement during the ongoing partial government shutdown. It will also be the latest sign suggesting that Trump thinks he’s losing the fight.

The Treasury Department brought hundreds of furloughed Internal Revenue Service employees back to work to help process a key form that lenders need to grant home loans, after an intense lobbying push by the mortgage industry.
The Department also announced it would bring back about 46,000 furloughed IRS employees—roughly half the agency—to work without pay, processing tax returns in order to ensure refunds go out promptly.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service brought back dozens of furloughed staffers at 38 wildlife refuges using leftover money from a previous budget year so that hunters could use the public lands.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is using a loophole in the law to continue providing food stamps for millions of Americans through February after initially saying they would run out at the end of January.

How is leasing federal land/waters for O&G operations over reach?

This has been done for every shut down that's happened so far.

Then they add this shite, knowing the above.
Hacks gonna hack though.

People on Government programs are takers not producers. I own businesses in the private sector. This shutdown will have ZERO impact on my production or bottom line. In fact I will take this a step further unless you are a business owner in the DC area (including VA and MD) as long as you are not a government leech or handcuffed to government programs your life will change very little to none. Why anyone would rely on government in all facets of their life is beyond me. It is inefficient and unproductive.

I feel like you are missing the point of the thread. The government is involved in the private sector for better or worse. Therefore, companies are being affected. And GDP will be affected. Are you arguing that?

Cool, tell the Democrats to stop siding with Mexico and do what's right for their own country.
