We told all the other nuclear nations we were going to do this well in advance. From my understanding, years in advance.

Since you must not know these are tested 3-5 times a year. I was part of testing them during my time in the AF. They have to be routinely tested every year.

No the timing does not give me pause. It takes months of coordination to test fire one of these. Even then it might shift a day or two due to weather and visibility. This missile had been moved to California probably 45-60 days ago.

Testing the missile is just fine and expected IMO. The missile is not outfitted with a nuclear warhead in testing.
