I want a long term solution, not something that could derail all efforts for good.

A lot of people are ignoring how many of these issues came to be in the first place, in steps. The process has been extremely successful for democrats.

Homosexuality shouldn't be illegal & gays shouldn't be mistreated -> gays should be able to marry -> gayness should be celebrated & no one should be allowed to speak against it -> drag queens reading to kids -> 11 year old drag kids dancing for money at gay bars is perfectly fine -> kids should be able to express their sexuality -> pedos are misunderstood & shouldn't be arrested -> pedophilia is celebrated

Automatic weapons should be banned -> no bump stocks -> no scary looking rifles used by military or law enforcement -> no magazines over 10 rounds -> no semi-autos -> no guns

I understand the desire to outlaw abortion, but the Alabama bill is not the practical way to do it. Pro-lifers would be much more successful by following a similar pattern.

Outlawing post-birth & 3rd trimester abortions -> no 2nd trimester -> 21-23 weeks limit -> heart beat bill -> remove incest & rape exclusions -> full ban

Going all out from the get-go will turn off a lot of moderates whose support will be needed. Many pro-life folks are already shunning anti-abortion people simply because they think a 12 year old rape victim shouldn't be forced to carry a child to term. That is simply not the way to get what you want.

Our country is in the midst of an ugly culture war. This will get uglier as California-based social media and New York and California based media and entertainment shove it down our throats about how backward we are. Southerners advocating for the innocent unborn are and will be relentlessly attacked. It's a tough situation.

I could give a frick about the moral high ground. I see the innocent and defenseless being exterminated primarily on the basis of them being an unwanted increase in personal responsibility and stress. They have no voice except from those who are willing to be demeaned for standing up for them. You call it moral high ground. I call it taking a stand amongst cowards.

Again, you use more curse words.. you’re emotional right now.

It's frustrating to watch stupid people like you do stupid things that will affect me negatively. I don't want you or anyone like you to play any part whatsoever in the things that affect my life. You are little more than a trained animal to me, and you simply aren't qualified to direct anything of importance in our society.

Your whole argument is emotional, driven like the sheep you are.

Again, Trump needs to resolve this quickly and shut you idiots up, so we aren't doomed in 2020.

And as we can see, some of our own have already chosen to side with what is politically correct rather than what is right. It’s sad.

Oh, and you’re an immoral sellout. So your opinion is meaningless due to it changing according to what others tell you is acceptable..

Ok, let’s try it your way.

We all know that these laws passed will be overturned. And we all know that our voices will never be acknowledged. So what you are advocating for will happen. Let’s see if they actually overturn roe vs wade. Should they get rbg’s seat, we would have the ability. But you and I both know they won’t.

Save me the hysteria. Every last one of these bills will be tied up in court for years with little to no chance of ever being enforced.

Forces women into more dangerous methods?? Forces??

How about forcing women to come to grips with their actions?? What about bearing the consequences of their little orgasmic side trips? I'm tired of this bullcrap. Do they really not know how junior gets put in the tummy?? Really?? It's not the feel-good ferry, ladies.

Should there be an exception for rape/incest? Yes. But it is as though no one can grasp Alabama’s strategy. They want the law to be as restrictive and bad as possible to ensure that they get to the Supreme Court.

Meh

I've debated abortion in general. I don't actually like the Bama bill although for some reason, the people who pushed it seemed to think it had to be structure that way to challenge Roe.

I'm no legal scholar so, maybe I'm missing something because I'm not seeing why it was required to be that way

I don't know why so many have a hard time understanding this.

The reason it had to be structured this way, is because the legal argument is, the unborn baby is a person and has rights. If you carve out an exception for rape/incest, then you saying the unborn baby does not have rights.

Think of it this way. Two babies are born on the same day. One, to a young, married couple who are starting a family. The other, the result of a rape. Both babies are lying in the nursery of the hospital. Can you tell which one is which? If you are a person, with all rights afforded to you at one day old, regardless of how you were conceived, then it has to argued that you have the same rights in the womb, regardless of how you were conceived.

There are not 26 members of the Alabama Senate, plus the Governor, who are callous towards a rape victim. They see the big picture. Get the law before the USSC, and with a conservative advantage of 5-4, and the fact that Ginsburg has stated that the Roe decisions was poorly decided, there's a good chance it gets overturned.

Tomi Lahren is hardly conservative when it comes to the issue of abortion.

A couple years ago I would have agreed with Tomi's sentiment. At this point, I think shining a light on how viable life is at various stages of gestation is important. It's crazy how we've gotten to 8 and a half month abortion is okay.

This isn't new. Lahren came our last year as a pro-choice advocate.
