absolutely love the fact that HRC is not POTUS - and have accepted the fact that maybe Trump was the only one who could have achieved that result. And I have always been in total agreement with the essence of Trump's message - but GAWDAMMIT - this man drives me absolutely crazy with the bull shite that falls out of his mouth on a daily/hourly basis.

Totally agree but we knew he was not going to impress us daily with his political speak. Trump is the tip of a common sense patriotic spear that has been stuck straight up the Washington swamp's arse.

there could have very easily been an incident that resulted from that comment (and his follow up comments), in which case he would share the blame

sure. like i said a few days ago, it would be something like 99.5% Kim Jong Un, 0.5% Trump

quote:

it sounds like you're upset the media is holding the POTUS to a higher standard than a 2 bit dictator.

uh...

Kim Jong Un has violated international law his entire reign and continued to illegally develop a region-destabilizing nuclear and missile programs, while threatening peaceful countries who are in no way threatening him and would ignore him but-for the attacks

Trump said something silly

Trump, with all of his buffoonery interpreted to the extreme, hasn't even come into the same stratosphere of behavior as Kim Jong Un (and we're just talking about the nukes and missiles, and nothing related to Un's domestic horrors)

and if you prefer the latter, would you criticize Trump for succumbing to reason and extending his "line"?

I'm not criticizing trump. I'm criticizing his retarded base and pointing out the double standard

are you giving Trump credit for diplomacy here?

I give him credit that, at least as of now, we haven't gotten into a nuclear exchange

that's a pretty low bar but i guess we have to start somewhere.

He's the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. That his behavior isn't as bad as KJU is the best you can say for him?

assuming your interpretation is true

would you rather that Trump be irrationally criticized like he is being criticized and it leads to nuclear war

or

the media gives him a break (like they did with Obama) and it avoids nuclear war

which is more optimal for the world?

no i said a bit more than "his behavior isn't as bad"

i said that they're so far apart that you can't even compare them

which makes the media trying to equate them, insanity

yeah and because he actually is president we should temper what we say bc of how sensitive he is

Meh, I don't see many Trumpkins saying temper your speech/criticism toward Trump I just see them defending him. The majority of people attempting to quell speech is coming from the left. Just this last week we have some really good anecdotal cases of the left suppressing free speech: CNN/Jeffery Lord, Google software engineer, and YouTube/ADL.

I think you know this but the way you combat bad speech is with more speech not less and I think most of all Trumpkins agree and I think you agree too.

So criticize away. But don't be surprised if the president responds with more speech.
